Today, the mobile phone is no longer just a means of
communication; it has begun to influence our attention, sleep, habits,
relationships, and decisions. Looking at the screen before fully waking up,
scrolling before going to sleep, people being physically present at home but
emotionally distant—these are all signs that convenience is slowly turning into
a silent prison.
The problem is not the mobile phone itself, but its
uncontrolled use. The same device can become a source of knowledge, livelihood,
religious outreach, education, and service. But when it takes control of our
time, awareness, and heart, a person is no longer truly free.
We need to reclaim our attention:
Start the morning not with the phone, but with prayer, gratitude, and purpose.
Turn off unnecessary notifications.
Keep meals, worship, reading time, and time with children mobile-free.
Reconnect with real relationships, books, service, and worship.
True success is not in owning the latest mobile
phone, but in protecting our time, heart, home, and purpose.
Let the mobile phone remain in your hand, not rule
over your heart.
Think about it: Are you using your mobile
phone, or is your mobile phone using you?
